Socialism or Capitalism?

Ronald Reagan, the great communicator and the last great president we have had speaks of Socialism and Capitalism through his story telling.

This is very apropos considering the fact we have a man about ready to become president and ready to make the same mistakes of the past.

The Obama Infomercial

So, let's get one thing straight. Obama would not have done these commercials had he not lied to the American people in the first place. Obama said he would accept public financing until he realized he could raise more money through the Internet thus breaking his promise. In other words, he lied. Why does anyone think he will not break his promises once in office? He will.

Most of Obama's drivel was the same rhetoric he has been espousing for the last 19 months with a few caveats.

Once again, the first words out of his mouth were that the financial crisis was caused by eight years of failed Bush policies. Doesn't anyone get tired of that? Yes a lot of the blame falls with the Republican administration but no one said Bush was a conservative. His Medicare drug boondoggle was about as far away from conservative principles as one could imagine. But, who encouraged families who could not afford houses to buy houses? It was through the Community Reinvestment Act promoted by Democrats Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. The purpose of this act was to pressure banks into making loans people could not afford. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two Democratic behemoths were the main culprits behind much of this financial mess. Of course, culpability does lie with Bush also. He, too, encouraged home buyers to purchase homes, and he praised the efforts of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These are not conservative principles. When did home ownership become a right? And not something obtained through hard work.

Moreover, it was the Bush administration who erroneously believed that by having an enervated dollar, our trade deficit would be lowered by artificially making exports cheaper. Never since the Carter years has the dollar been so weak. Greenspan fanned the flames by injecting too much liquidity into the market through his policy of low interest rates. Greenspan finally admitted he was wrong.

In 2007, FASB issued its notorious FAS 157, mark to market rules. FAS 157 was devasting to this financial crisis. It required companies to mark their assets down to some FMV even if there was no market. Such was the case with the subprime market. There was no current market, but financial institutions had to value these instruments at next to nothing. Because there is no market does not mean there is no value. Financial institutions were still cash flow positive, but mark to market rules forced companies to increase their capital requirements. According to Forbes Magazine had these rules been in effect during the banking trouble in the early 1990s, almost every major bank in the U.S. would have collapsed. We would have had a second Great Depression. Fortunately, the SEC has gotten the message, and the mark to market rules are being revisited.

All those anecdotal sob stories Obama showed about families who could no longer afford their mortgages made you want to cry or not. What about the renters who couldn't purchase homes because houses were artificially high? - as a result of bad policy decisions. Now, Barack Obama says let's have a moratorium for 90 days on foreclosed homes. And, what will that accomplish? - Just delay the inevitable

Did you notice, Barack Obama said families who earn 200,000 dollars or less will not pay any taxes? Last week it was 250,000 dollars, and Joe Biden said it was 150,000 dollars. The goal post keeps changing. Whatever Obama does – he will certainly kill the economy.

I almost had to laugh when he said he would keep our military strong. Hmmm – then what about this comment

I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. And I will institute an independent "Defense Priorities Board" to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending. Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.

Barack Obama's naiveté is astounding. Reagan ended the cold war by building our nuclear arsenal and bankrupting the Soviet Union. You cannot uninvent what has already been invented. Our enemies are laughing at us, and they are hoping for an Obama victory.

Barack Obama does not even hide his socialistic views, and the country seems to falling for it. It is the Democrats who said that Bush was tearing the constitution apart. Well, socialism is so anathema to the constitution and a free market that it is astounding people cannot see through it. Their hatred towards Bush is so great; they don't seem to care that the views of Obama will virtually wreck this economy.

I have a liberal friend who tells me that I only hear what I want to hear about Obama's socialism and that he is really not saying that. Oh yeah, some people really have their head in the sand. The following are just the few instances I can think of at the moment.

  1. In Barack's memoir, "Dreams of my father" he talks about how he attended the socialist conferences at Cooper Union at Harvard.
  2. At a North Carolina Rally, Barack Obama said this, "We've got to make sure that people who have more money help the people who have less money. If you had a whole pizza, and your friend had no pizza, would you give him a slice."
  3. We all know the infamous comment made to Joe the Plumber, "I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
Of course instead of attacking the luminous words of Barack Obama, the liberal media went for the juggler of Joe the Plumber. That is how Obama is going to represent the middle class.
  4. In an audio just released, Obama speaks of the Warren court, the most liberal court we have had, and how it never focused on the redistribution of wealth. Why there is still some controversy on what he meant in the audio, taken with his other comments, we can extrapolate that he was talking about the redistribution of wealth in a radical sense.
  5. In an Interview with Bill O'Reilly, Sept 08, 2008 Obama said the following, "If I am sitting pretty and you have got a waitress who is making minimum wages plus tips and I can afford it and she can't, what is the big deal for me to say I am going to pay a little more that is neighborliness."

In Obama's socialistic mindset, he wants to rid the world of poverty by giving 25 billion dollars a year to impoverished nations – another idea doomed to failure. Warlords are frothing at the mouth awaiting Obama's handout.

During times of crisis, socialism seems to be the utopian answer that would once and for all rid us of the ills of the world. Everyone would be equal. There will be no poverty. People everywhere will live in harmony and sing Kumbaya. It is this "Kumbaya" world where Obama wants to take us. The only place this type of world will exist is in heaven. In Matthew 26:11, Jesus said, "For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me." This is an unmitigated fact. Poverty will always exist. There has been not one country where socialism has worked. Countries that have tried socialism have all failed.

The more socialistic a country becomes, the less that country can function. Socialism impedes growth. Socialism impedes the free market system. Socialism impedes the very innovation that creates a free market system and capitalism. It destroys the creative process. Barack Obama from his youth has believed that socialism is the answer. He ignores history. He ignores economics. This man is such a danger to this country that by the time we wake up, I wonder If it will be too late. It's in God's hands now.

One final note: Obama is now instructing his disciples to take November the 4th off to help give him the presidency. How is that for arrogance! I predict that if Barack Obama becomes president, he will be the most arrogant president since the Roosevelt administration.

The Financial Crisis - From whence it came

In trying to understand the financial turmoil in which we currently find ourselves, Glenn Beck, a talk show host wrote three excellent articles which everyone should read. These pieces are very well written and are non-partisan in nature. He places the blame on both Republicans and Democrats and talks about how we got here, where we are headed, and what to do.

What happened

Guys

What Yes, another email letter from your crazy brother. You raised a lot of questions in your last email and I am going to try to answer all of them.

I think all of your questions fall into three areas: (1) how did we get here; (2) what's coming; and (3) what can I do to prepare myself and my family.
Happened

What's Coming

Guys,

If you thought my first email letter answering the question “how did we get here” was on the scary side you’re really going to find this email letter that answers the “what’s coming” question very sobering. I promise you though, my next letter addressing “what you can do to prepare you and your family” will be positive. Continue Reading What's coming

What can I do to prepare?

Guys,

Here is the third letter I promised you. In my earlier letters I've explained "what happened" and "what's coming." Today, I want to answer the questions you've asked regarding "what can I do to prepare myself and my family." Continue Reading What can I do to prepare?

Time to turn off the television

Barack Obama is going to blanket the airwaves tonight with his drivel. Time to heed Obama's own advice.

We’re going to have to parent better, and turn off the television set, and put the video games away, and instill a sense of excellence in our children, and that’s going to take some time

Quote of the day

My prediction is that with Acorn's help, Obama will win 107 percent of the popular vote and 600 Electoral College votes. Just like other Socialist candidates around the world. I further predict that the Democrats first action will be issue a bounty on the heads of all Bushies---if conservatives don't do it first.

The arrogance of Obama

Obamamessiah says the following:

"If you'll stand with me, then I know that we can win Virginia and we can win this election and we can finally bring the change we need to Washington, "I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here."

Not since Roosevelt has such arrogance been exhibited in a candidate for president. The policies Roosevelt enacted during his presidency caused the Great Depression to be deeper and longer.

The liberals think we are not electing a president, we are electing a god.

Expect the same with an Obama presidency. Let's hope there is an upset.

My voting ballot with commentary

  • President – John McCain. The object here is to vote for the person who will do the least damage to the country, and that is John McCain.
  • United States Representative 13 the congressional district – Raymond Chui. I have no idea who he is, but he is running against Pete Stark who is (May I say it) a moron. If you have ever gone to one of Pete's Town Hall meetings, it's like going to a liberal love fest. Stark will win – He is too entrenched in this liberal town of Newark.
  • Member of the State Assembly 28th District –
    Jeffrey wald, Republican
  • Superior Court Judge Office #9 – Phil Daly – His opponent is Dennis Hayashi. Hayashi is supported by the Sierra Club, labor unions, the Democratic Party – need I say more.
  • Ohlone Community College District Trustee, Area 1, Seat 4 – Bob Brunton. I
haven't the foggiest reason why – who would? Both sounded Okay. Used my dime to flip heads or tails. May not have been good for Bob's opponent, but it was good for the dime.
  • Ohlone Community College District Trustee, Area 1, Seat 6 – David Sheen – see Seat 4
  • District AC Transit District Director, at Large Joyce Roy – Why do I care?
  • Alameda County Water District Director John Weed, Robert Irwin, Jame, s Gunther (vote for three) - All but the incumbent, sounded good to me.
  • Washington Township Healthcare Directors Patricia "Pat" Donaldson, William F. Nicholson – Why are these positions elected positions? Who knows who they are?

Propositions

1a) Safe Reliable High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act – No, I usually vo te no on Bonds especially when California is highly leveraged as is. In the comment section, my nephew and Godson wrote a good argument on why it would be beneficial.

2)
Standards for Continuing Farm Animals Initiative Statute – No, Leave this up to industry. Sounds dumb to me. Who came up with the idea that animals can't extend their limbs or wings. Who wants to bet PETA is behind this. We have more serious things to worry about.

3)
Children Hospital Bond Act – NO - Sounds good if it's for children right? It's a bond, and not everything is solved by throwing money at it especially in California.

4)
Waiting period and Parental notification before termination of minor's pregnancy – Yes, this is what my former boss would have called a TGO, a terrific grasp of the obvious. It is a parent's right to know what is going on in a child's life. Child comes home from having an abortion, and she is an emotional wreck yet the parents do not know why. We are responsible for every aspect of a child's life except the one issue that can have the most dramatic impact in her life. California tries to take our parenting obligation away from us.

5)
Nonviolent drug offenses, sentencing, parole and rehabilitation, initiative statute – No, why should I pay for treatment programs?

6) Police and Law Enforcement Funding. Criminal Penalties and Laws. Initiative Statute – Yes, As I said, I usually vote no on Bonds except my son wants to be a cop. This will increase the number of jobs, so I vote yes.

7) Renewable Energy Initiative Statute – No, after closely reading this initiative, I believe this will increase energy costs. It was also put on the ballot by petition signatures and it is backed by solar and clean energy. So there is a special interest group involved here namely that of solar energy. That in itself should make it suspect. The beginning argument in favor of prop 7 says this, "We can do better than dirty coal, nuclear power and offshore drilling." That should say it all. The backers for this are against coal, nuclear power and offshore drilling the three components that can grow this economy and get us off foreign oil. This proposition is confusing on purpose – it's a fraud.

8) Eliminates Right of Same-sex couples to marry. – yes. This is about reversing the legislative action by a few liberal judges, who circumvented the will of the people. Marriage should be between a man and a woman.

9) Criminal Justice System, Victims' Rights Parole. – yes. Sounds reasonable, notifying the victims for inputs in the criminal justice system. What a novel idea!

10) Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy. – No – This is just another fraud for alternative and renewable energy in California which California cannot afford. Until California promotes nuclear power and offshore drilling, I will have a hard time believing anything they want to do concerning alternative energy.

11) Redistricting. – Yes, this initiative removes the conflict of interest where politicians can redraw their districts to ensure they remain in office.

12) Veteran's bond act – Yes, my one exception to voting no on bonds are veterans. I usually vote yes on veteran bonds unless the bond is outlandish.

District WW – No – They want to increase my property taxes 10 dollars per year per 100,000 dollars to maintain parks. When will it stop? If they want to maintain the parks, raise the entrance fees.

Powell endorses Obama - so what!!

Pro-choice powell was never a conservative. He is one of those RINO - Republican in Name Only.

Powell says, "Is there something wrong with being a Muslim?" in his Meet the Press Interview referring to Obama hypothetically speaking of course. The answer is for an American, "NO", for a President, "Yes." Powell fails to understand the Middle East, the war on terror and what it would mean to be a Muslim.

Moreover, Islam differs from other mainstream religions in this way. Catholicism, Evangelical Christianity and other denominations view separation of church and state differently. While it is entirely possible to separate church from state with regards to Christianity - this is not true of Islam. Islam teaches that religion and the state are inextricably linked. Would this not make it difficult for a Muslim president in a secular state?

Trinity United, Obama's church has consistently supported the Palestinians, and has been fierce critics of Israel. We are at war with Radical Islam, and electing Obama would be another victory for Hamas and supporters of terrorism.

Powell's endorsement should be no surprise. Powell has been making rumors about supporting Obama. He has never been a conservative, and this proves it. No true conservative could ever vote for Obama period.

Rush Limbaugh states, "I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with." That is putting it succintly.

No vamos a cortar programas suficientes.

No somos tontos.

The debate between Dumb and Dumber, a different take of the third and final debate

Moderator: Welcome, to our third and final debate. We have decided through a coin toss that senator Government, I mean senator Obama will go first. Senator Obama, what can you offer this nation?

Barry: Well, Bob, I can offer this country change. America needs a change in direction. Change is what this country wants, and I can bring it. It may not be good change. In fact, it may not be the change you want. In fact I am pretty sure it will be bad change, but I can bring it. I am an agent of change. I am not senator government, I am senator change.

Moderator: McCain, Response?

John: Well, Bob, senator Government, I mean senator Obama does not offer the change you want. I am the true maverick. In fact, I am such a maverick that I have slapped my own party in the face more than you can count. When my own party was against finance reform, I slapped them in the face. When my own party was against my immigration reform, I slapped them in the face. When my own party says climate change is not caused by humans, I get up and say, "Yes it is because I saw it." And I slap them in the face. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago, because I am no George Bush. I have reached across party lines and that one senator government I mean Obama has not. I believe in Bipartisanship, and you can take that to the bank. Bipartisanship is very important to me. By Bipartisanship I mean caving into what the Democrats want, and slapping the faces of my Republican friends. I understand Bipartisanship. It means that although everyone tells me I should do it, I will not mention that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were headed by Democrats Chris Dodd and Barney Frank. Instead I will call to the carpet the SEC Chairman Chris Cox because he is a Republican, and I have no problem going after Republicans, but I will not go after Democrats because I need them for bipartisanship.

Moderator: Barack, Now that the Dow has fallen several thousand points, companies are laying people off, banks are failing in droves, corrupt CEOs are running off with taxpayers money, and the economy is in danger of falling into the abyss. Has this altered your plans any?

Barry: Uh Bob, Why would it? Did I not say change? Change is who I am. I want to tax the big dumb rich fat cats who steal our money and give it to the homeless who don't work and who have never had the ambition or sense to go to school and get a job. I believe in the great society. Change is who I am.

Moderator: Senator McCain, How about you? is there anything you would do differently?

John: Well, Ok if I have to - I will put a spending freeze on everything and bailout all those people who could not afford houses so they can stay in their houses. Just think free houses. If we don't have money, don't worry we will print it. If Argentina can do it so can we. If we don't bail out these people who should never have bought a mortgage in the first place, his responsible neighbors house will fall in value, and then he will be mad. They won't be mad because we gave his neighbor a free house, he will be mad because his house fell in value. I am also against pork; I will veto any bill with pork even though the bailout bill I signed was laden with pork.

Barry: You can't put a spending freeze on everything - that means you wouldn't be able to fund your special-needs program. Remember scalpel not hatchet.

John: I can to do it.

Moderator: This campaign has taken on a very negative tone, would you like to respond to that, Senator McCain you first.

John: Well, Bob – Senator Obama has been very nasty to me and it's unfair, I do not like it, please make him stop. Had he done the town hall meetings like I wanted this would have never happened. He has more money than I therefore he has more negative ads and it's just not fair. Anyway, I just want to know what his relationship with Bill Ayers and ACORN are. I really don't want to mention them but everyone who is voting for me wants me to mention them, and I promise even though my Republican friends want me to mention the relationship with Reverend Wright, I will not cross that line, I just want to slap my Republican friends again and show a little bit of bipartisanship and not mention him, because even though Barack spent twenty years in a church that teaches Marxist liberation theology, I fail to understand what that has to do with the issues. And then Congressman Lewis, another Democrat I praised came out and said that I was like those racists in the 60s and George McGovern, doesn't Congressman Lewis understand, "I love him." I love all Democrats, remember bipartisanship.

Moderator: Barack

Barry: Well, I think that John is crying just a little too much, I mean campaigns are tough. So I lied that I wouldn't take public finance reform, and I lied when I said I would do town hall meetings with McCain, but heck everyone is willing to look past all my unsavory relationships, why do you think they will care about me lying to the American people? This is only the beginning of my lies, just wait until I get into office. But at McCain's rallies they have called me "Terrorist" and yelled, "kill him." Yes I know the secret service has denied it, and it is a flat out lie propagated by the media, but I am willing to bet McCain will not call me on it.

Moderator: Well, would each of you tell us what you think of each other's vice president nominee? Senator government I mean Obama you go first.

Barry: Well Bob, she is cute – uh can I say that? I am not going to say she doesn't have enough experience because that might reflect badly on me. I don't have any experience either, but she is only the VP. She has excited her Republican base which is good, and she is cute. Did I say that?

Moderator: Senator McCain

John: I think Senator Biden is a nice decent man – after all, he is a Democrat and I believe in Democrats – Remember I am for bipartisanship. He also has tons of years experience; yes this man is qualified in every way except for one thing. He has been wrong on every foreign policy decision he made. He was against the first gulf war, and he had some cockamamie idea on dividing Iraq up into three different countries. I mean really – How stupid is that!!! But other than that he is a fine decent human being, and if he ever ran for president I would be honored to be his VP.

-Mark, Mark Wake up.

"Oh oh oh, what did I miss?"

Nothing – McCain is talking about Joe the plumber.

A few final thoughts from last night's debate:

  1. This should have been McCain's first debate as it was his best so far but not good enough.
  2. He still did not show enough passion.
  3. Best memorable line, "Yes, Senator Obama, I am not president Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago.
  4. McCain still did not go after the Democrats who started this financial mess including ACORN.
  5. Joe the Plumber – This was a good thematic line on how Barack is for the redistribution of wealth not growing the economy, but McCain bungled the quote. He should have remembered it by heart

"I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

It was good the way McCain kept driving this home, a tactic he should have used prior to this debate. The benefactor of this will be, of course, Joe the Plumber – just think of how much free advertising he got in this debate.

Meanwhile, Dow drops another 733 points – psyche!

Let's play Robin Hood

Bush's greatest legacy will be the destruction of the Republican party and the conservative movement. His tax cuts, his outstanding performance in destroying the Taliban, and his success in the war on terror will not even be discussed. It is like the boss who says to his employee, "What have you done for me today?"

This country will now be run by a radical empty-suit socialist who has been brought up in a mindset of liberation theology, a doctrine steeped in Marxist thought - Unbelievable. This is a man who does not even hide what he believes when he tells a plumber in Ohio,

I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too." "I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

In response to his statement, the plumber to whom Barack was speaking told Fox News the following. This is the small business man Barack wants to win over. Wasn't too successful.

Eduardo Verastegui talks about abortion and a reason to vote

Translation in English is below Spanish.

Eduardo Verastegui, a Catholic, and a Mexican actor tells his story and gives you a reason to vote this November.

Hi, My name is Eduardo Verastegui

And I want to invite you to watch a video that has so inspired me to fight for those who do not have a voice. Did you know that children of minority groups are being aborted at a proportion more than double than that of their Anglo-Saxon counterparts? According to statistics from 1990, 26% of women in the United States belong to minority classes. According to statistics from the Center of Disease Control, (CDC) 36% of the abortions were from these minority classes.

As Hispanics we are the most affected by the abortion industry and I want to know why? The majority of the abortion centers are found in places inhabited by Hispanics. Why?

The Newspapers and magazines – Spanish radio and television are saturated with announcements and commercials promoting abortion. Why?

Abortion is not only a lucrative business but it is also used by racist people as a means to eliminate our people since they think we are a threat to the democracy to this country. Unfortunately, the majority of people know the truth about abortion and its terrible consequences.

Did you know that three thousand babies are aborted daily in the United States and that 650 of those babies are of Hispanic origin or more than 200,000 Hispanic babies are aborted each year in this country?

Many of these victims that you will see in this video were found between the second and third trimester during the mother's pregnancy. Many of them were found in garbage bags near abortion centers.

Some of you might ask yourselves if it is necessary to show a video like this one and the answer is the same that schools give to show children movies about the Nazi holocaust. The teachers do not all videos of the NAZI holocaust in order to manipulate the emotional state of the students. They do it because the NAZI holocaust represents a horrible so evil that words alone are not sufficient to describe the reality.

The abortion holocaust is not different. We all know instinctively that abortion is bad, but until you see this video you will not realize how perverse it is.
The decision to see this video should be decided freely by each one of you, but I hope that you watch it because ignorance that is born from not wanting to accept reality stops us as a country to react against abortion. If something so horrible is happening that we can’t even stand to see it might it not be telling us that maybe we shouldn’t tolerate it.

After the video, I am going to provide you with very important information about Barack Obama’s position with respect to abortion.

(Video)

My friends,

I know that watching this video has been difficult and very painful. It is not easy to see babies that have been murdered this way. It is very difficult to speak about abortion, but it is more difficult seeing these babies murdered as you have just seen in this video. There are people that after watching this video ask themselves, How is it possible that this is legal? I believe that abortion is legal because there are not sufficient men and women to raise their voice against abortion. All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. I first showed this video to a woman that was pregnant and considering the option of terminating her pregnancy. The video moved her so much that it not only touched her heart, but it also changed her way of thinking forever. Months later, she gave birth to little Edward, a baby that has changed the lives of many.

Did you know that since abortion was legalized, more than 40 million babies have been murdered? It is necessary to put an end to abortion and the political candidates play an important role in this matter.

Did you know that Barack Obama supports abortions that take place during the last months of pregnancy? That Obama supports the inhuman practice of partial birth abortions that Obama wants to finance abortion with your and my tax dollars. As a legislator, Obama voted on several occasions against a law that searched for ways to protect babies that had survived an abortion after they were born, the born-alive amendment. Obama has pledged to remove all pro-life laws that currently are offered in many states that protect the unborn and their mothers.

Mr. Obama does not agree with notifying parents of a 13 year old minor child who becomes pregnant before she has an abortion. Absurd laws like this one that ignore the opinion of parents are precisely those that allow child predators and sexual deviants to force young girls to have secret abortions in order to hide the predator’s sexual crimes. Obama is interested more in keeping abortion legal than he is concerned about the welfare of the unborn, the children and their families of this country. Let us unite and let’s do something to defend life in all phases from conception until its natural death.

I want to thank you for watching this video. If you are moved as I was, the unborn need someone to defend them, please put your compassion into action. If you want more information on how you can help us, if you are pregnant, and you need help or if you have had an abortion and would like confidential information, please visit our following Internet sites.

Thank you and May God bless you.

McCain is in trouble – The Presidential debate moderated by Tom Brokaw

As of this writing, I am watching my investment portfolio dissipate into thin air. Pope Benedict XVI the other day said that money is ephemeral, the economy is built on sand, and only the word of God will stand forever. He is right.

October 7th 1984, exactly 23 years ago from yesterday's debate. President Ronald Reagan faced off with Walter Mondale in their first debate. Mondale believed the road to reducing the deficit was raising taxes, President Ronald Reagan believed the way to reduce the deficit was lower taxes. He spelled out exactly how he was going to do it, and he was able to sell his plan to the American people. Reagan came from 16 points behind to a landslide victory. Last night, McCain didn't come close to Reagan's performance. There was no cohesive argument that Americans could understand. There was no passion. Where was the passion McCain has so often used on the Senate floor? The headline in the Drudge report is, "Boring!" In American Idol, Simon Cowell calls it "the wow factor." If a singer sings okay, but nothing spectacular, Simon Cowell says, "There was no wow factor." In last night's debate, I am afraid, "There was no wow factor."

The first twenty minutes should set the tone for the debate. McCain should have begun naming names right at the onset of people responsible for this financial debacle. He did not. Instead, he comes up with another 300 billion dollar bailout package for homeowners to stabilize the housing market. I wanted to get up from my seat and choke him. The majority of Americans were against the 700 billion dollar bailout, so why did McCain think that another 300 billion dollar bailout was going to get him any votes. What about his spending freeze? I heard a Democratic pundit call it a "Hail Mary Pass." Unfortunately, I would have to agree with her. That was the most ridiculous populous rhetoric I heard from McCain in the entire debate.

McCain finally talked about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac:

>But you know, one of the real catalysts, really the match that lit this fire was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I'll bet you, you may never even have heard of them before this crisis. But you know, they're the ones that, with the encouragement of Senator Obama and his cronies and his friends in Washington, that went out and made all these risky loans, gave them to people that could never afford to pay back. And you know, there were some of us that stood up two years ago and said we've got to enact legislation to fix this. We've got to stop this greed and excess. Meanwhile, the Democrats in the Senate and some -- and some members of Congress defended what Fannie and Freddie were doing. They resisted any change.

That was a good start, but he left it there. He never mentioned it again, and didn't name names. How can he not name the people responsible and hold them accountable? Poll after poll shows that Americans want accountability. Why did he not name Frank Raines, the ex-CEO of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and a current advisor of Obama, Democratic Senator Chris Dodd, and Democrat Barney Frank? Why did he then not tie these together to the Democratic congress that has a lower approval rating than President Bush? A president Obama and a Democratic congress are tantamount to a blank check, and Obama will use it. I wanted to put some dynamite in McCain's rear-end to get him fired up.

McCain did begin to talk about taxes, and he made some salient points. At one point McCain said, "the last president to raise taxes during tough economic times was Herbert Hoover, and he practiced protectionism as well, which I'm sure we'll get to at some point." I was waiting for McCain to explain his statement. He did not. If 50% of Americans according to polls do not know who is in charge of congress, how many does he think know who President Herbert Hoover was? Herbert Hoover was the president at the beginning of the depression, and his increase in taxes, and his protectionist policies such as the Smoot-Hawley act made the depression much deeper and made it last longer, but McCain failed to explain this.

Tom Brokaw asks who will be the next treasury of the state and McCain comes out with Warren Buffet. Warren Buffet is one of the greatest financial geniuses of our century but he is a big liberal. Couldn't McCain come up with a conservative? And why wouldn't have the candidates have thought of this before since the treasury secretary is now the most powerful person in the United States Government? Of course, Obama is going to come back and say, "Yeah, Warren Buffet sounds good."

McCain then elaborated on Obama's tax policies,

"Small businesses across America will have to cut jobs and will have their taxes increase and won't be able to hire because of Sen. Obama's tax policies. You know, he said some time ago, he said he would forgo his tax increases if the economy was bad. I've got some news, Sen. Obama, the news is bad. So let's not raise anybody's taxes, my friends, and make it be very clear to you I am not in favor of tax cuts for the wealthy. I am in favor of leaving the tax rates alone and reducing the tax burden on middle-income Americans by doubling your tax exemption for every child from $3,500 to $7,000. "

McCain also made the point of Obama's spending over 800 billion dollars in new spending, but he did not effectively tie the two together. He was off to a good start but again it was not enough. He also knew Obama would come back with his usual talking points when Obama said,
>"I want to provide a tax cut for 95 percent of Americans, 95 percent. If you make less than a quarter of a million dollars a year, you will not see a single dime of your taxes go up. If you make $200,000 a year or less, your taxes will go down. Now, Senator McCain talks about small businesses. Only a few percent of small businesses make more than $250,000 a year. So the vast majority of small businesses would get a tax cut under my plan. "

McCain left this statement unchallenged. There is no way with Obama's spending plan that he can only tax his so-called rich. In one of Obama's crackpot ideas he wants to spend 25 billion dollars a year to send to foreign countries to cut down on poverty. Guess where that money will end up? – In the hands of terrorists and warlords. He wants to enact a windfall profit tax, the same type of tax that proved an abysmal failure during the Carter years. A windfall profit tax is no different than the excess profit taxes tried before World War 2 that ended up hurting the economy. He wants to expand the earned income credit which is welfare. He says his taxes won't affect small businesses but there are currently 21.6 million sole proprietorships under the individual tax system. Obama's taxes include these taxpayers too. These rates would change from 33% to 39.6%. And what about stifling economic growth with an increase in the tax rate of capital gains and dividends? Obama's tax plan is the same-old redistribution of wealth that has always hurt economies. That is the only way 95% of Americans can get a tax break. This is the opposite of supply-side economics.

McCain talks about earmarks, but it's beginning to lack credulity. His 700 billion dollar bailout was laden with earmarks.

Why did McCain not mention the far-left organization ACORN and Obama's involvement in it which is well-documented? Acorn has been involved in a number of voter fraud cases and just today, the FBI raided the Las Vegas offices of ACORN for more voter fraud including the falsifying of forms with fake names, addresses, etc. This is a commonality of ACORN.

Governor Palin had referenced that Obama was palling around with terrorists such as Bill Ayers, former terrorist of The Weather Underground. This was in reference to newly released documents last Thursday According to these documents, Bill Ayers wanted to radicalize students "in his words" and he hired Barack Obama as chairman of the "Chicago Annenberg Challenge" who was responsible for distributing the 50 million dollars raised by Ayers to various schools. This would have left more doubt in the mind of voters. Why did McCain not mention this?

Or, what about Obama's cozy relationship with convicted felon Tony Rezko from whom Obama bought a house under suspicious circumstances that even Hillary Clinton mentioned in her debates?

We have one relationship after another from Obama's past of characters of unsavory and dubious quality yet McCain does not mention one of them. One relationship wouldn't mean much, but it is the pattern of these relationships throughout his life that we have to wonder on who Obama really is.

McCain should have refined his energy plan a lot sooner. This is the first time I heard McCain say that he would reprocess nuclear waste like France and other countries. Before it was all about where do we put the waste? France reprocesses 95% of their waste, and the remainder is almost nothing. It is only recently Obama has been for nuclear energy. McCain lost this as an issue.

Obama's plan even sounded better on health care. It's going to cost an arm and a leg, but it sounded better than what McCain was proposing. But again, Obama wants healthcare for 45 million uninsured individuals. That number has always included 14 million illegal aliens. What kind of burden will that put on the government? We don't have money for any of these spending programs.

As we watch our economy crumble, who does not think Al-Queda and other terrorist organizations are looking on this as an opportunity?

There will be one more debate, but who will be watching?

This is not about who will be the best president of the United States, because both of these candidates are dolts. The question comes down to who will do the least damage to our country?

"Dime con quien andas, y te diré quien eres" Show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are." is a favorite saying in Spanish and a warning to America. In last night's debate McCain was unable or unwilling to make the sale. Therefore, I predict that Barack Obama will be our next president, but be warned. Barack Obama will take us to places we have never been before, and these are places that are not good. Barack Obama is a product of far-left George Soros and Moveon.org and he comes from the corrupt Chicago political machine, and anyone who has looked at his relationships understands what I am talking about. Last night's debate was a turning point in our country. We have now begun the metamorphous transformation from what America used to be to a socialist style of Europe. Its Ironic that Europe is electing leaders by the droves that are right of center because their socialistic policies are killing them; France - Nicolas Sarkozy, Germany – Angela Markel, Italy – George Napolitano and Sweden – Fredrik Reinfeldt. This country will now be run by Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Like Britain, our greatness will be greatly diminished by socialistic and protectionist policies. Barack Obama will turn this country into just another member of the European Union. I hope we will be able to recover.

What McCain needs to do in tonight’s debate

McCain needs to show passion and anger tonight. McCain has shown both anger and passion before. He did it during the immigration debacle as he slammed his Republican base. The ire and passion against his own party was intense. McCain needs to put this passion to good use tonight.

McCain needs to:

  1. 1) McCain needs to name names and he needs to come down hard. Americans are angry with what is going on in the economy, and they are directing their anger towards the Republican administration. The incumbent administration is always the administration that receives the blame even though they may or may not be at fault. It was policies by the Democrats that encouraged low-income citizens to buy homes without any credit. It was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that were led by Democrats and went bankrupt because of Democrats. It was the Democrats who prevented any form of regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to help prevent the current crisis. It was Obama and Chris Dodd who received the highest amount of contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It is Franklin Raines who was the ex-CEO of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and is currently an advisor on the Obama campaign. McCain has finally come out swinging. He needs to show the same passion he showed towards the end of his convention speech.
  2. Conservatives have long wanted McCain to come out and expose the Radical relationships of Obama. The media has given Obama a pass, so it is up to McCain. Only when McCain is behind in the polls has he started naming these relationships. He should have done this a long time ago. Obama's association with Reverend Wright is only the tip of the iceberg. These relationships are not mere "guilt by association", but they show a man who feels comfortable around radical groups and radical individuals. These are also the people and groups who helped shape Obama's world view, a view of a socialistic state that will lean towards trying to appease our enemies like Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain did during World War 2, and enact policies that will hurt our economy like President Herbert Hoover did during the Great Depression. Hoover's policies during the Great Depression deepened the depression and helped it last as long as it did. Obama's policies will deepen our economic crisis. Obama's relationships include the following:

    1. Bill Ayers – Obama has downplayed this relationship, but he is closer to Ayers than most think. In papers from "The Chicago Anneberg Challenge" It appears that Obama and Ayers association was much deeper. Ayers received a 50 million dollar grant, and Obama was put in charge of doling out the money for so-called "school reform." It was actually for radicalizing students a la ayers.
    2. ACORN – Obama's association with the radical group ACORN. ACORN has been indicted for voter fraud numerous times Obama trained personnel in ACORN. ACORN is known for its strong arm tactics to obtain subprime loans for homeowners who could not afford loans. (ACORN is currently involved in voter fraud happening right now in OHIO)
    3. Frank Marshall Davis – Mentioned in Obama's memoir as Frank, Dreams of my Father, a close confident of Obama and a well known communist and Stalinist in Hawaii that was under FBI surveillance for 19 years who believed America was a racist and an imperialistic country.
    4. Don Warden – changed his name to Khalid Al-Mansour and is tied to radical Islam. He has helped to advance Obama's candidacy.
    5. Rashid Khalidi – A former colleague of Obama and now a professor at Columbia. Supporter of the Palestinians and a fervent critic of Israel, which he calls a destructive racist state. He supports suicide bombers.
    6. Arab American Action Network – A so-called pro-Palestinian organization and a beneficiary of the Obama-Ayers team at the Woods Fund
  3. Do not talk about Iraq. Iraq has been a success. Its success has made it a non-issue. Americans don't seem to care that Barack was wrong on the surge, and if they do they already know about it. Cover ground that is not known.
  4. The economy – We need to cut taxes, not raise them like Obama wants to do, because that will kill an economy already on the brink. We need to lower capital gains tax not raise them, we need to lower the dividend tax rate not raise them. McCain has not yet demonstrated what Barack's policies will do to this economy. But, who can blame Obama. The policies he espouses were shaped by a worldview developed from a lifetime of radical associations. Obama has a trillion dollars in new spending but intends to tax only those who make over 250,000 dollars. That is wishful thinking. According to Obama's plan, small businesses, the engine of the economy cannot grow unless they want to pay higher taxes. That would depress the economy even further. McCain should propose a zero capital gains rate. Barack keeps touting 47 million people uninsured that would now receive insurance. That includes illegal aliens. California recently scrapped its universal health care plan, because it could not afford it. How does Obama think he is going to pass universal health care (including illegal aliens) in this economy? 700 billion dollars was just used to bailout Wall Street, and he wants to continue his spending spree of providing healthcare for all.

McCain needs to turn this election around tonight or the most radical socialist in America's 200 years will be our next president. McCain needs to stop the Obama express.

It is about time

McCain finally finally goes after Obama with the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac crisis. Now, go one step further - name names!

His speech today --

Our current economic crisis is a good case in point. What was his actual record in the years before the great economic crisis of our lifetimes?

This crisis started in our housing market in the form of subprime loans that were pushed on people who could not afford them. Bad mortgages were being backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and it was only a matter of time before a contagion of unsustainable debt began to spread. This corruption was encouraged by Democrats in Congress, and abetted by Senator Obama.

Senator Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed. But the truth is I was the one who called at the time for tighter restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that could have helped prevent this crisis from happening in the first place.

Senator Obama was silent on the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and his Democratic allies in Congress opposed every effort to rein them in. As recently as September of last year he said that subprime loans had been, quote, “a good idea.” Well, Senator Obama, that “good idea” has now plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

To hear him talk now, you’d think he’d always opposed the dangerous practices at these institutions. But there is absolutely nothing in his record to suggest he did. He was surely familiar with the people who were creating this problem. The executives of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have advised him, and he has taken their money for his campaign. He has received more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than any other senator in history, with the exception of the chairman of the committee overseeing them.

Did he ever talk to the executives at Fannie and Freddie about these reckless loans? Did he ever discuss with them the stronger oversight I proposed? If Senator Obama is such a champion of financial regulation, why didn’t he support these regulations that could have prevented this crisis in the first place? He won’t tell you, but you deserve an answer.

“Say it ain’t so Joe!” An analysis of the VP debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden

As the two VP candidates entered the stage, a winsome and confident Sarah Palin approached Joe Biden and shook his hand "May I call you Joe?" she inquired. Joe smiled with his dentine white teeth and nodded. This was the beginning of Sarah's night. This was Sarah's make-it or break-it moment. The pundits had said that if she made any serious gaffes or mistakes, her political career and McCain's campaign would be over. She did neither. Palin's Midwestern folksy cadence demonstrated to the average American that she was not a "Washington Insider." As she delivered her arguments, she would occasionally wink saying to the "American people" in a non-verbal fashion that she was one of them, but at the same time each time she winked, she drove the left mad. The far-left "Huffington Post" equated her winks to trying to pull something over on us. Huh? Palin in large part articulated McCain's positions better than McCain has done. Again, Palin baffled her critics. Just the fact that she was able to hold her own against the life-time boorish senator Joe biden and that she make no mistakes or gaffes makes this a Palin win.

This was also a referendum on Gwen Ifill, the moderator. Gwen was on her best behavior throughout the debate. The criticism she received as a result of an Obama book to be published January 20th where she stands to make a lot of money should Obama win must have caused her to put her partisan ideology aside and conduct an honest debate. There were no "gotcha" questions, and the questions were for the most part questions for which we wanted to hear answers.

Palin on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

" We need to look back, even two years ago, and we need to be appreciative of John McCain's call for reform with Fannie Mae, with Freddie Mac, with the mortgage-lenders, too, who were starting to really kind of rear that head of abuse. And the colleagues in the Senate weren't going to go there with him. So we have John McCain to thank for at least warning people. And we also have John McCain to thank for bringing in a bipartisan effort people to the table so that we can start putting politics aside, even putting a campaign aside, and just do what's right to fix this economic problem that we are in."

Why is the McCain campaign so reluctant to name names? McCain has no problem in naming names if it's a Republican, but he erroneously figures that if he names a democrat, he is being too partisan. This will always get him in trouble. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were Democratic monstrosities run by Franklin Raines (a current advisor to the Obama campaign), Barney Frank, and Chris Dodd, all Democrats. Chris Dodd and Barack Obama were the two highest recipients of contributions. The McCain campaign needs to name names.

Palin on energy

Barack Obama and Senator Biden, you've said no to everything in trying to find a domestic solution to the energy crisis that we're in. You even called drilling -- safe, environmentally-friendly drilling offshore as raping the outer continental shelf. There -- with new technology, with tiny footprints even on land, it is safe to drill and we need to do more of that. But also in that "all of the above" approach that Senator McCain supports, the alternative fuels will be tapped into: the nuclear, the clean coal.

Palin knows her energy, and I am finally glad they are hitting this hard. Most Americans want offshore drilling.

On global warming (aka climate change)

I'm not one to attribute every man -- activity of man to the changes in the climate. There is something to be said also for man's activities, but also for the cyclical temperature changes on our planet. But there are real changes going on in our climate. And I don't want to argue about the causes. What I want to argue about is, how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts? We have got to clean up this planet. We have got to encourage other nations also to come along with us with the impacts of climate change, what we can do about that. As governor, I was the first governor to form a climate change sub-cabinet to start dealing with the impacts. We've got to reduce emissions. John McCain is right there with an "all of the above" approach to deal with climate change impacts.

This was a good answer. For anyone who has seriously studied climate change knows there is no proof that human activity is the cause of global warming. Even if humans do have any impact, the solutions the left tries to impose will usually hurt the economy without affecting the climate (i.e.: cap and trade schemes.) The left also doesn't want to put in nuclear power, the cleanest form of energy that would reduce carbon emissions. Today I read McCain wants to tap Al Gore as a resource. Why does McCain always feel he has to go towards the Democrats who hate Republicans? Especially a blowhard know-nothing like Al Gore.

Palin on taxes

Barack had 94 opportunities to side on the people's side and reduce taxes and 94 times he voted to increase taxes or not support a tax reduction, 94 times. Now, that's not what we need to create jobs and really bolster and heat up our economy. We do need the private sector to be able to keep more of what we earn and produce. Government is going to have to learn to be more efficient and live with less if that's what it takes to reign in the government growth that we've seen today. But we do need tax relief and Barack Obama even supported increasing taxes as late as last year for those families making only $42,000 a year. That's a lot of middle income average American families to increase taxes on them. I think that is the way to kill jobs and to continue to harm our economy.

McCain and Palin need to hammer this home - how Obama's taxes will kill the economy. Today's news showed another 159,000 jobs lost, and Obama still wants to raise taxes.

An increased tax formula that Barack Obama is proposing in addition to nearly a trillion dollars in new spending that he's proposing is the backwards way of trying to grow our economy.

That was a great line.

At one point in the debate Ifill posed the following question,

" I want to get -- try to get you both to answer a question that neither of your principals quite answered when my colleague, Jim Lehrer, asked it last week, starting with you, Senator     Biden, What promises -- given the events of the week, the bailout plan, all of this, what promises have you and your campaigns made to the American people that you're not going to     be able to keep?

Even Ifill thought they didn't answer that question and realizes that if the economy is going to hell in a hand basket, your policies would need to change with the circumstances.

That was an excellent question and Biden, in Biden fashion, totally evades the question, and bloviates about nothing – But it sounded good. Palin answered the following,

There is not. And how long have I been at this, like five weeks? So there hasn't been a whole lot that I've promised, except to do what is right for the American     people, put     government back on the side of the American people, stop the greed and corruption on Wall Street

McCain's plan of lower taxes will work in any environment, but Obama's plan will kill the economy, but yet Obama and Biden still want to play Robin Hood.

Biden mentioned that McCain even refuses to meet with the government of Spain. Of course, I knew that was a lie on the face of it. Spain's Prime Minister Luis Zapatero is a socialist, but he is no threat. There would be no reason why John McCain would not visit him, and come to find out www.factcheck.org said that it is an erroneous claim by Biden. That is not what McCain said.

The debate was good for McCain because Palin performed well and articulated McCain's positions better than McCain has, but the McCain campaign needs to name names. Palin and McCain need to pound harder on taxes and what Obama's plan will do to the economy, and the idea that 95% of people will receive a tax cut is ludicrous especially with a trillion dollars of spending. Obama's math is a little fuzzy too. Only 70% of people pay taxes, so how is it that 95% will receive a tax cut? McCain should have fought against the bailout plan laden with pork barrel earmarks, the very thing he said he was going to fight against, and he should have gone with the Republican version. He could have turned the campaign around had he done this. He missed a huge opportunity – his first test. We will be pulling our hair out for four years with McCain, but the alternative is all too dangerous.

We have to fight for our freedoms, also, economic and our national security freedoms.    It was Ronald Reagan who said that freedom is always just one generation away from     extinction. We don't pass it to our children in the bloodstream; we have to fight for it and protect it, and then hand it to them so that they shall do the same, or we're going to find     ourselves spending our sunset years telling our children and our children's children about a time in America, back in the day, when men and women were free. We will fight for it,     and there is only one man in this race who has really ever fought for you, and that's Senator John McCain. Sarah Palin

Obama pays to have channel on Dish Network

Yesterday I was channel surfing on Dish Network, and I ran across channel 73 called Obama. This channel was dedicated 24/7 to Obama. Everything you wanted to know about Obama but were afraid to ask (because it will ruin the economy and our standing in the world) is on this channel.

This enfuriated me, so I sent off a letter to Dish Network threatening to go to their competitor if they did not remove this channel. This is the letter I received back.

Dear DISH Network Customer

Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate your comments and concerns regarding the Obama Channel; please understand that the Obama Channel (CH 73) is paid advertising by the Obama campaign and is not an endorsement of Senator Obama by DISH Network, and that the programming offered by DISH Network does not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the corporation.

This space has been purchased similar to any other channel we broadcast, and any other candidate who wishes to purchase a channel through DISH Network will be given the same opportunity. At this time, no other candidates have showed interest in purchasing a channel.

Your business is greatly appreciated and we thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please refer to www.dishnetwork.com or reply to this email.

Sincerely,

Obama is now purchasing television stations, and of course he has every right to do so. And now that I see he paid for the channel, I think it was smart on the part of the Obama campaign so now I say McCain where is your channel?
